Analysis

It’s hard to find two teams with more different trajectories right now. Add in the fact that it’s a huge rivalry game, and this one is must-see TV. Florida made it official even though it seemed Mullen had already checked out anyway, so will their team have a renewed spark in them this week? Florida State, on the other hand, has played better and better in recent weeks, despite some disappointing losses.

In terms of matchups, every last one points to the Gators. The only problem is that these are season-long statistics, and there was a time when Florida was hanging with Alabama and Georgia (for almost a half, anyway). Those times are long gone, now, after dropping games to the dregs of the SEC East. Still, their defense is talented enough to put a mediocre Seminoles offense into some tough situations.

Florida has a very balanced offensive attack, which they’ll look to utilize to its fullest potential, using their running game to set up some shots and busts in a vulnerable Florida State secondary.
